Tap when it starts. Tap when it eases.
Birthtide is a calm contraction timer and kick counter for iPhone. It works out how far apart your contractions are, saves every tap on your phone, and stays out of your way.

Start to start, every time
Care teams ask how far apart contractions are, counted from the start of one to the start of the next. Counting from the end of the last one is the most common timing mistake. Birthtide does the counting and shows duration separately.
Timeline of three contractions starting at 10:00, 10:06 and 10:11 and lasting 0:45, 0:50 and 1:00. Measured start to start, the intervals are 6:00 and 5:00.
Made for 3 a.m.
Contractions rarely wait for daylight. Birthtide is built to be used half asleep, with one hand, in a dark room.
Use it without looking
The Start/Stop button fills most of the screen and sits under your thumb. A Live Activity keeps the timer on your Lock Screen.
Nothing pops up
No ads, upgrade prompts or rating requests while you are timing.
Nothing gets lost
Every tap is saved the moment you make it, even if the app closes or your phone restarts.
Your care team’s rule
Pick 5-1-1, 4-1-1, 3-1-1 or your own. Birthtide shows when your timings match it and never tells you whether labor has started.
Stays on your iPhone
No account to create. Your records are not uploaded to a Birthtide server.
Kicks, history and reports

Kick counter
Tap once for each movement. A count ends at 10 or after two hours, and past counts stay on your iPhone.

History
Every session keeps its start times, durations, intervals and optional intensity ratings, ready when your midwife asks.

Reports for your care team
With Birthtide Pro, a one-time purchase, send a session as a PDF or CSV to your midwife or doctor.
The timer, kick counter, history, widgets and Live Activity are free. Pro adds reports and has no subscription.
